NZ DIA Defence Relationship Award

More commonly referred to as “The NZ DIA/Defence Relationship Award”, it recognises an individual working for the New Zealand Defence Force who has made an outstanding contribution to Defence/industry relationships.

Purpose

The Award will identify the Defence person or persons who have best contributed to building or improving the Defence/Industry relationship.
The aim of the Award is to publicly recognise good performance in this area and provide the opportunity for the NZ DIA and Defence to promote constructive and collegial relationships between Defence and Industry.

Nominations

Nominations will be called for by the NZ DIA in June of each year. Nominees will normally be individuals – any Defence Official (uniformed or civilian, all ranks and including the Ministry of Defence) who has made an outstanding contribution to improving Defence/Industry Relationships. In some instances, a small group (e.g. a procurement cell) may be nominated.
Nominations will be accepted from:
  • NZDF or MoD personnel in respect of members of their staff
  • Members of the NZ DIA
  • Other parties who have had a particular experience of good relationships

Judging

Judging will occur in August, by the NZ DIA Board. The Board may seek supplementary information from the nominators or referees named in the nomination.
