NZDIA at Pacific – Concentrated Lunch
The New Zealand Defence Industry Association are delighted to be hosting our first event at Pacific 2019. While this event is clearly not of the scale of an NZDIA Forum, it will have some of the features this sector has come to welcome and appreciate, and this time held in Australia.
Jon Finderup of the New Zealand Ministry of Defence and Commander Murray Tuffin, RNZN, the Maritime Lead in Capability Branch, will be our special guest speakers. This lunch is a one-off unique opportunity for business to hear an up to date briefing on the New Zealand DCP Maritime projects and to meet others looking to be in, or build, supply chains. We have kept the time to a concentrated burst to give everyone the best value for the time.
With the release of the Defence
Capability Plan in June this year we are seeing substantial opportunities for
industry both as primes and in supporting roles across all domains. The
DCP was launched at a time when the New Zealand Government announced new
procurement rules with more focus on involving local businesses, and the
Australian Government is continuing to refine its support systems and processes
to support SMEs in Australia (and New Zealand).
This lunch event is designed to:
- Give easy access to meet and hear from the New Zealand maritime decision makers;
- To provide a different environment within Pacific 2019 for Primes interested in these projects, to meet SMEs from both NZ, Australia and further afield;
- To provide a place for SMEs to meet each other, for supply chain and business development around these projects; and
- Provide an opportunity for businesses interested in all the DCP projects to meet the team from NZDIA to explore what we can do to help.
